Our internship program emphasizes trauma-informed care and somatic approaches, providing a supportive, guided environment where interns can build clinical skills, deepen their knowledge, and grow as compassionate, confident professionals.

"I had the privilege of completing my psychotherapy clinical for my PMHNP education at Timshel Counseling, and I truly cannot say enough good things about this team. The women there are compassionate, knowledgeable, supportive, and deeply dedicated to the people they serve.

My experience impacted me both professionally and personally. I developed so much trust in their care that I now have members of my own family seeing one of the therapists there — and they absolutely trust and love her

Since leaving as a student, I have confidently referred several others during my current clinical rotation. I’m incredibly grateful for my time there and highly recommend them to anyone looking for thoughtful, genuine counseling support and educational experiences."
"I had the privilege of interning at Timshel Counseling, where I was welcomed by an incredibly kind and supportive team. Everyone was eager to answer my questions and made me feel comfortable throughout my internship experience.

I had the opportunity to job shadow Whitney and Bre, which gave me valuable insight into the importance of mental health care. One of the highlights of my internship was participating in play therapy sessions with Bre, where I was able to interact with the children and observe firsthand the impact of play therapy. This experience taught me how meaningful and effective play can be as a therapeutic tool for helping children process emotions and experiences.

The greatest takeaway from my internship was witnessing genuine healing through therapy. Whether it was somatic therapy, prenatal and postpartum care, play therapy, or other therapeutic approaches, I saw how treatment is tailored to each client's unique needs. This personalized approach creates space for growth, healing, and lasting transformation. My time at Timshel Counseling strengthened my appreciation for the counseling profession and the positive impact it can have on people's lives."
