A Bit About Me
Have you been dismissed or told that "everything looks normal," yet you're still living with chronic pain? Are you feeling hopeless, frustrated, or exhausted by pain that just won't go away? Have you tried treatment after treatment without finding lasting relief, or noticed your pain worsens during times of stress?
If this sounds familiar, you're not alone—and there may be another way to understand your pain.I specialize in walking alongside people who feel like they're constantly carrying the weight of "not enough"—the pressure to perform, the pull to please everyone else first, and the quiet, exhausting hum of anxiety underneath it all. Many of the people I work with are perfectionists and people pleasers who've spent years managing everyone else's needs, only to find themselves worn down by internal judgment and shame they can't quite name.
My work is grounded in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), a mind-body approach rooted in neuroscience. PRT is based on the understanding that many chronic pain conditions are driven by a sensitized nervous system rather than ongoing tissue damage. While the pain is very real, the brain can sometimes become stuck in patterns of interpreting safe signals as dangerous. Through this work, we help your brain and nervous system learn to respond from a place of safety instead of threat, allowing new neural pathways to develop and creating opportunities for meaningful healing.
PRT may be beneficial for clients who:
-
Continue to experience pain after structural causes have been ruled out or appropriately treated
-
Have pain that exceeds expected healing or recovery timelines
-
Experience significant fear, hypervigilance, or avoidance related to pain
-
Report perfectionism, chronic pressure, worry, or stress that may reinforce danger signaling
-
Multiple chronic conditions or pain in multiple parts of the body
-
Have mixed pain presentations involving both structural and sensitization components
Other conditions PRT can be helpful for include: Fibromyalgia, Central Sensitization, Chronic Headaches, Migraines, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), inflammatory Arthritis, Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Nausea with no organic cause, Pelvic Pain, Whiplash, Long COVID, hEDS, PTSD, Anxiety
In our work together, my priority is creating a space that is person-centered—one where you feel met exactly as you are, without needing to perform or explain yourself first. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy works best when it helps you reconnect with that knowing, rather than handing you someone else's answers.
I approach this work with curiosity, warmth, and respect for how hard you've been working to hold it all together. Together, we slow down enough to notice what your mind and body have been trying to tell you—and to build new patterns of ease, self-trust, and calm.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: you don't have to earn rest, and you don't have to carry the weight of perfectionism alone. Therapy can be the place where you set some of it down, and begin to trust yourself again.
Education
2021-2024
St. Cloud State University
Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Cloud State University, where I focused on cultural responsiveness, trauma-informed practice, and ethical, evidence-based care. My graduate training strengthened my commitment to providing therapy that honors each client’s story, context, and sense of safety—values that align closely with Timshel Counseling’s mission and led me to join their team.
2018-2020
University of Minnesota Morris
Bachelor of Arts, Major in Psychology, Minor in Anthropology, with distinction
I earned my B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in Anthropology, from the University of Minnesota Morris, graduating with distinction. My studies deepened my curiosity about how people make meaning from their experiences and how culture shapes healing. That curiosity ultimately led me to Timshel Counseling, where I continue exploring those themes through trauma-informed, person-centered work that honors each client’s unique story.
